User passwords form to control panel

Here is a small REGISTRY file which adds a hidden “User passwords” form to control panel.

Recover Windows 7 Registry

Quick summary:

Boot from a live CD or USB drive that supports your file system.

Step 1: Backup your previous registry (just in case):

  • copy c:\windows\system32\config\system c:\tmp\system.bak
  • copy c:\windows\system32\config\software c:\tmp\software.bak
  • copy c:\windows\system32\config\sam c:\tmp\sam.bak
  • copy c:\windows\system32\config\security c:\tmp\security.bak
  • copy c:\windows\system32\config\default c:\tmp\default.bak

Step 2: Delete previous registry files:

  • delete c:\windows\system32\config\system
  • delete c:\windows\system32\config\software
  • delete c:\windows\system32\config\sam
  • delete c:\windows\system32\config\security
  • delete c:\windows\system32\config\default

Step 3: Copy files from repair location to boot location:

  • copy c:\system32\config\RegBack\system c:\windows\system32\config\system
  • copy c:\system32\config\RegBack\software c:\windows\system32\config\software
  • copy c:\system32\config\RegBack\sam c:\windows\system32\config\sam
  • copy c:\system32\config\RegBack\security c:\windows\system32\config\security
  • copy c:\system32\config\RegBack\default c:\windows\system32\config\default

Foobar vs Windows Media Player

When the context menu (right click) does not contain options of foobar (like “enqueue in foobar” or “play in foobar”):

In summary:

  1. Enable Foobar context menu via:
    1. Preferences → shell integration → enable “Folder context menus”:

  1. Prevent Windows player from suppressing other player’s options
    1. Control panel→default programs→Set program access and computer defaults → disable the “Enable access to this program”:
